Track Name: The Dragon
I heard a tale
Of a dragon who saved a town
He fought off every danger
And asked for nothing in return
He stood at one hundred feet tall
With wings that could blow down a castle
And the people looked upon him
And more than ever
They saw a god

And they sang,
“O, Holy Monster, what are you?”
And they danced all around for a fortnight or two
“But it's time for bed
So rest your head, sweet dragon
May we ever be your friends.”

Now this dragon had a home
It was far away in the mountains
And sometimes he felt lonely
Being the only one of his kind

He called the town his friends
But they believed that he was
So much more

And he sang,
“I am your savior, not your God!
I've done nothing to deserve the praise you throw around your lots”
“But it's time for bed
So rest your head, sweet dragon”
“I am ever only your friend.”

And they sang,
“O, Holy Monster, what are you?”
And they danced all around for a fortnight or two
“But it's time for bed
So rest your head, sweet dragon
May we ever be your friends.”
“I am ever always your friend.”
Track Name: Sunday Morning, 2 A.M.
I've been so uncomfortable now
These dreams are getting harder to bear
I've been so uncomfortable now
Someday I'll just fall off this chair

Maybe it's intangible, my troubled mind
Maybe I just don't quite understand
Maybe it's untraceable to naked eyes
Maybe I should go back to bed

I've been reading longer books now
Stories of a life I wish I had
Though I haven't picked it up since four Sundays ago
It's the story that matters most

Maybe it's intangible, my troubled mind
Maybe I just don't quite understand
Maybe it's untraceable to naked eyes
Maybe I should go back to bed

I once wrote a story of a monster
Living in a canyon painted brown
I never could quite think of an ending
Maybe that's because he's still around

Maybe it's intangible, my troubled mind
Maybe I just don't quite understand
Maybe it's untraceable to naked eyes
Maybe I should go back
Maybe it's intangible, my troubled mind
Maybe I just don't quite understand
Maybe it's untraceable to naked eyes
Maybe I should go back to bed.
Track Name: Kings On The Pier
We are but living
On a slice of bread and coffee beans
We are but treading
The water by the pier

We have but twenty-one
Lonely years between us
It seems that it's easier
To your pocket from this height

We don't know the cost of living here
All we care about is whether our hands will grow

Warm was the summer sun
That brought our worlds together
Colder was the winter grey
Where we honed our shifty craft

We are but wanting
To stay this tall forever
Brother, we'll be alright
As long as we're together

We don't know the cost of living here
All we care about is whether our hands will grow
The copper is coming
So we'll hide in our corner
And waste away the hours
But what happens when
We're bigger than now
We'll leave the streets behind
I don't wanna leave the streets behind
I don't wanna leave

Long, these eleven years
That tore our worlds away
Cold the golden badge
You wear across your chest

Though we are older now
We'll always be the legends
Of sticky hands, and faster legs
Oh, how we ruled the pier

We don't know the cost of living here
All we care about is whether our hands will grow
Track Name: The Soldier and the Gardener
Good morning
I'm warning you
Stop planting
Your flowers by the road
Or my superiors
Will have me take you in

You cannot pretend
That I'm an outlaw
For bringing some color
To where there was none before
Mister Soldier, put down your gun

My friend
Don't make me put you down
Did you know
I once killed a man
It was long ago
But I do not regret it

Who are you to say
Who'll let live, and who dies?
This world is not so cold
That anyone should die lying down
Mister Soldier, put down your gun

Dear God,
What I have I done?
If only I could take it back
I would
Maybe I do not belong
In this world...

Who are you to say
Who'll let live, and who dies?
You can be the color this world needs
It's not too late
Mister Soldier, put down your gun.
Track Name: The Dragon, Part II
Grey skies overhead
I feel everything, and yet nothing
Maybe I'm growing lonely
Being the only one all around

It's been so many years
Since I've seen her face on this mountain
Maybe I should go
And search all the skies till I find her

And he sang,
“O, mighty creature, where are you?
I am only so strong as the one I hold on to
But it's time for bed
So I'll rest my head on this mountain
Will you ever come home?”

The townspeople gathered then
And wondered how they could help him
“Maybe we should repay him
For guarding our town all these years”

“It seems that he's growing lonely
Being the only one in this valley
Let's take all our treasure
We'll scatter the land till we find her”

And they sang
“O, Holy Monster, where are you?
We must dry the tears of our friend, that he'd be happy too
But it's time for bed
So rest your head, sweet dragon
We are ever always your friends.”

And they sang,
“O, Holy Monster, what are you?”
And they danced all around for a fortnight or two
“But it's time for bed
So rest your head, sweet dragon
May we ever be your friends.”
“I am ever always your friend.”
Track Name: Little Box/Virginia Going Home
I'm a rock, I'm an island
But it's lonely out here
A little box, a little entrance
With only room for one

Holding out for springtime
For leaves to grow on my branches
The thing about trees is they all seem
To grow outwards
But they never touch
Not really

Won't you say the words
You've never heard spoke to you
Maybe you're not alone
But you've never known the difference

I remember your smile
I remember your smile
I remember your smile
I remember your smile

Won't you say the words
You've never heard spoke to you
Maybe you're not alone
But you've never known the difference

//

She ages not so well
With no one left to tell her secrets
The time, it passes slowly outside
But ever faster in her mind

Virginia, going home
Without leaving her pillow
She's flying at the speed of sound
To places she knows no one else has found

A dragon guards her rock
And the sea defends her island
But there's no one left there to protect her heart
Maybe now it's time to wake up

Virginia, going home
She's climbing off her pillow
She's climbing at the speed of light
And maybe she'll meet someone new tonight

She remembers your smile
She remembers your smile
She remembers your smile
And I remember your smile

Virginia, going home
Without leaving her pillow
She's flying at the speed of sound
To places she knows no one else has found
To places she knows she will not be found.
Track Name: Light Pollution
Desert sand can make it hard to sleep
But I am finding my own way
Tumbleweeds to form my pillow
This driest earth my mattress

But I forgot to douse the fire
I'll gather water from the brook
'Cause all these stars will help me dream of warmer places
And warmer times, and all these years gone by

The wind gets colder when the moon is up
And all my clothes are painted brown
But there's no light pollution here to block my vision
Of a lonely star I remember

But I forgot to douse the fire
I'll gather water from the brook
'Cause all these stars will help me dream of warmer places
And warmer times, and all these years gone by

Gone by

But I forgot to douse the fire
I'll gather water from the brook
'Cause all these stars will help me dream of warmer places
And warmer times, and all these years gone by

Gone by
Track Name: December (The Cobblestones)
Grasping my gun
As the world turns the other way
My Julia
On the shoreline of another place
Those endless nights
You're wasting till break of day
I'll gather my heart
Only for you I go to war

I cannot change what they've done
It seems insane, but you can't wake up

“My body lies along the cobblestones
Please help me find the ones who bring the cold”

These four long years
I've tracked your captors to Washington
I see my hands
Wrapped around their necks as they bite the sand

I cannot change what they've done
It seems insane, but you can't wake up

“My body lies along the cobblestones
Please don't come north along the open road”

I can almost feel the way that you grasp my heart
So, the reaper comes to lay the veil upon your eyes.
Track Name: January
Sweet December, I go
Far away to cleanse the water
January, I come
To face the changes I am willing

Bought a ticket at the station
A train to go somewhere unknown
Maybe I will see you waiting
But who are you, I don't know

Holding on is sometimes good
But to the winter, we are frozen
Summertime is just a mile's ride away
So all aboard
All aboard

Holding on is sometimes good
But to the winter, we are frozen
Summertime is just a mile's ride away
So all aboard
All aboard
Track Name: The Dragon, Part III
Gold covers the ground
But I'm so far from home
Maybe it could be
A mighty creature, my old friend

And she sang,
“O, mighty creature, where are you?
I am only so strong as the one I hold on to
But it's time for bed
So rest your head, my lover
I am on my way back home”

The wind blows against my way
But I'm still far from home
These trees have grown so tall
But I'll burn them all down to see you again

And she sang,
“O, mighty creature, where are you?
I am only so strong as the one I hold on to
But it's time for bed
So rest your head, my lover
I am on my way back home”

The fog begins to clear
I'm growing closer now
And I can hear that roar
I know it so well, my old friend

And they sang,
“O, mighty creature, here are you!”
And they danced all around for a fortnight or two
“But it's time for bed
So we'll rest our heads together
I am so glad you're back home
I am so glad you're back home.”
Track Name: Fresh Air
Maybe you knew some way better
To keep away your greatest fears
Maybe you knew all the reasons
That you could love me the way you did

Maybe you knew some way better
To find your way back through the snow
Maybe I can find a shovel
And you could shovel your way home

Cause it's hard to take the windows down
Yea it's hard to take the windows down
And it's hard to take the windows down
Yea it's hard to take the windows down now

You were made of a different kind of light
The kind the darkness couldn't touch
I wish that I could learn to breathe the same fresh air
For now, I'll have to settle

Cause it's hard to take the windows down
Yea it's hard to take the windows down
And it's hard to break without making sound
Yea it's hard to take the windows down now.
